FDADrugs and FDADrugsLite are designed to help medical professionals to make clinical decisions more promptly and confidently. FDADrugs contains official information of 139 therapeutic biologicals, 13,494 prescription and 545 over-the-counter human drugs approved by US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sale in the United States since 1939. FDADrugsLite is a limited edition which contains approximately 2/5 products listed in FDADrugs.

These applications allow users

* to find latest FDA approved labels for drug products (requires internet connection);
* to find generic drug products for a brand name drug product;
* to find therapeutically equivalent drug products for a brand name or generic drug product;
* to find all drugs with a specific active ingredient;

The FDA approved package insert (label), retrieved directly from FDA resources, is the official description of a drug product which includes:
* indication (what the drug is used for); who should take it;
* adverse events (side effects);
* instructions for uses in pregnancy, children, and other populations;
* safety information for the patient.
