Dynastic is a jailbreak repository offering access to a variety of free and paid tweaks, themes, and apps for iOS devices. It is also the official source for AltDeamon, an app that allows you to sign IPA files on your device with AltStore. Some of the popular packages available from Dynastic include SnapBack, Succession, Aperio, ShortLook, SnowBoard, Scorpion, and Gesto.

AltStore is a free iOS app that allows you to install IPA files directly on your device without the need to jailbreak. With a free certificate, you can install up to 3 apps that will work for 7 days before needing to be re-signed. AltServer can re-sign all apps to prevent them from expiring. Cydia Impactor is no longer able to sign apps with free certificates, making AltStore a valuable tool for installing IPA files. The technology behind AltServer is also used by Sideloadly to sign and install IPA files on iPhones and iPads.

AltStore is compatible with iOS versions 12.2, 13, 14, and the latest 15. It can now also sideload IPA files directly to iOS devices without the need to install AltStore first. To do this, hold the Option key (on macOS) or Start key (on Windows) and click on the AltServer icon to reveal the "Sideload .ipa..." menu option.

AltStore was originally created to install Delta, an all-in-one emulator for iOS, but the developer has since opened it up for others to use to distribute their own apps through the IPA signing tool.

AltServer is a tool that allows you to install IPA files on your iOS device using your Apple ID over WiFi. It can also re-sign apps in the background to prevent them from expiring and handle app updates through AltStore. In order to use AltServer, it must be run on the same WiFi network as your device.

AltStore has a unique feature that allows you to deactivate installed apps, allowing you to switch between up to 10 apps without being subject to the normal 3 app limit. This feature works with both free and paid Apple developer accounts.

In addition to its signing capabilities, AltStore also allows you to download IPA files in the Safari browser and send them directly to the app for signing and installation. Starting with version 1.4 (which requires iOS 14), AltStore also includes the ability to refresh apps via the Siri and Shortcuts app and has support for a Home Screen widget that displays when sideloaded apps are set to expire.

AltStore can also be installed on jailbroken devices like unc0ver or Taurine15 using a modified version of the IPA signing tool that prevents the app from being revoked. The developer has also released AltDaemon, which is available via the Chariz Repo and allows AltStore to install and sign apps without using AltServer on a computer, making it a self-contained IPA signing tool for iOS similar to ReProvision.

AltStore is accessible for VoiceOver users and supports 3rd party sources with IPA files and a URL scheme for adding sources directly. This last feature allows you to automatically download and install IPA files on your device.

AltStore and AltServer have a strong reputation for supporting the jailbreak community, and as a result, AltStore has added the ability to install unc0ver's Fugu14-based untethered jailbreak on iOS versions 14.3 to 14.5.1.

AltStore was also implemented to allow Filza Escaped to view and manage all files on your device without a jailbreak when the Psychic Paper exploit was released for iOS versions 13 to 13.4. However, this exploit was fixed with the release of iOS 13.5 beta.

AltStore has also added support for AltJIT, which allows apps to be compiled natively on the device using Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation. This allows the apps to run at full speed, and can significantly improve the performance of emulation apps like Delta, UTM, and DolphiniOS. JIT compilation is supported on iOS versions 14.2 to 15.4, and while this feature is provided by iOS, it has not been publicly mentioned by Apple. JIT apps are not available on the App Store, and can only be sideloaded onto the device.

To run apps in JIT mode with AltJIT, simply tap on the app icon and activate 3D Touch, then select "Enable JIT" from the context menu if available.

AltServer and AltStore have not been officially released for Linux, but there are forks of the project available on GitHub, such as AltServer Linux and AltServerGUI Linux. AltStore is only officially available for Windows and macOS, and can be installed through AltServer.

For those running a device without a jailbreak, the TrollStore app may be of interest. It uses the CoreTrust bypass bug to allow you to install apps permanently on a stock iOS device without the need for a jailbroken environment. TrollStore works on iOS versions 14.0 to 14.8.1 and 15.0 to 15.1.1.
